Known for his vibrant stage presence and versatility, Marcus masterfully blends the timeless beauty of The Great American Songbook with his own contemporary flair, earning acclaim from the likes of JazzTimes, which describes his work as “wonderfully imaginative,” and Jazziz, calling him “exciting and fresh.” All About Jazz sums up his appeal saying [Marcus is] “like a plate full of comfort food!” — bringing together nostalgia and innovation in one unforgettable experience.
As a songwriter, Marcus crafts deeply emotional and storytelling-driven songs that resonate across genres. His music has been praised for its emotional depth, melodic craftsmanship, and lyrical ingenuity. With five critically acclaimed albums released under Fallen Apple Records, his music has garnered attention from respected outlets, including People Magazine, which gave his latest album a 4-star review, saying, “Goldhaber will have you giddy one moment, melancholy the next, and loving every note.” His work has also been featured on WNYC by Jonathan Schwartz and on Sirius XM, where he was hailed as “excellent” and “filled with ideas.”
Marcus is equally known for his ability to command a stage. His charismatic presence has led him to perform at New York City's most iconic venues, including Carnegie Hall, 54 Below, Birdland, Blue Note, Iridium, Smoke and Kitano, among others. Nationally, he’s graced the stages of Catalina in Los Angeles, The Count Basie Theatre in New Jersey (w/The Joe Muciolli Big Band), The Lied Center in Kansas, The Smith Center in Las Vegas, The RRazz Room in Pennsylvania, and World Café Live in Philadelphia.
His original songs have been performed by many highly acclaimed singers including Gabrielle Stravelli, Randy Roberts, Melissa Stylianou, Aimee Allen and Alexis Cole. He has also shared stages with Don Most, Deanna Martin, Bria Skonberg and Terrance Mann.
Beyond his singing and songwriting, Marcus shines as a captivating emcee! His charming and engaging personality has made him a sought-after host at some of New York's most celebrated venues, including the speakeasy-style Jazz club, Room 623 in Harlem, which he founded in 2019. Recently, he was also tapped to host regularly at the legendary Cotton Club, further solidifying his status as one of today’s premier entertainers.
As a Voice Actor, Marcus’ uniquely relatable ‘storytelling approach’ can be heard in commercials, audiobooks (audible), meditations (Insight Timer app) and corporate promotional videos (Lionel Trains).
In addition to his live performances and music career, Marcus has appeared on television in Guiding Light (CBS) and The Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj (Netflix). His original songs have been featured in many full length feature films, including How We Got Away With It (Jon Lindstrom) and Going Down in La La Land (Embrem).
A passionate advocate for military veterans, Marcus launched the Carry You On project in 2014, a collection of original songs designed to strengthen the bond between civilians and military families. Through a successful Kickstarter campaign, he raised over $70,000 to produce and tour the project, which has now sparked national momentum and was hailed by Joe Brooks, President/COO of Liberty USO, as “the start of a movement.”
